Sprout - case story

In 2012 three student from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, set out to create the first plantable pencil in the world. The Sprout Pencil would be made out of sustainable wood with a dissolvable capsule containing seeds at the end, where there is usually an eraser.

Two years later the students sold their assets, including trademarks, patents and IP rights to the Danish company Sprout with Michael Stausholm as the main shareholder and CEO of Sprout World.

“We were proud to represent Sprout in this amazing story of growth and responsibility. Working cross-border with innovative project is exciting and interesting. We have worked with Michael Stausholm and Sprout for many years. It is very satisfying, when we are participating in the life cycle and success of our clients”, says Charlotte Vinding Christensen.

Today, Sprout World sells more than 450,000 pencils a month in more than 60 different countries.
